Challenge Yourself!

Canada represents the best playground for teenagers interested in the outdoors. We are the organization of choice for teens interested in getting out of the classroom to explore the planet the way it should be. By joining The RCACC Royal New Westminster Regiment, you will participate in various activities. You will also help support your community by taking part in citizenship events organized by the cadet corps.

100% Free to Join

The are no registration costs, and the program is free to join.  Army Cadets is a youth adventure program facilitated through the Government of Canada, Department of National Defence (DND), to promote youth involvement within the community. The program is funded in part by DND, and also by money raised throughout the year by the cadets and the Parents Support Committee.

DND supplies two different uniforms (dress and field training). They fund three weekend exercises, and six single day training activities.  Any activities above these are paid for by funds raised, and/or cadets paying themselves.  We encourage every cadet to participate & if a cadet is unable to afford an activity, subsidy may be provided to ensure the cadet doesn’t miss out.  If you require subsidy for an activity, please bring it to the attention of the Commanding Officer.

Challenge Yourself

The Royal Canadian Army Cadets appeal to teenagers craving exciting outdoor activities where their personal limits as individuals and team-members will be tested.

Our Parade Nights

The 1922 Royal Westminster Regiment Army Cadets parade on Wednesday nights, from 1830 Hrs. to 2100 Hrs. (6:30 PM to 9:00 PM).

Our 2018 – 2019 cadet training year runs from September 12, 2018 through June 12, 2019. We stand down during the Christmas holidays and Spring Break.

Are You Up for The Challenge?

Army Cadets participate in numerous activities throughout the cadet training year. Some of these activities fall outside the Wednesday training night, such as the occasional Tuesday evening, Saturday or over an entire weekend. On average, we conduct 4 field training exercises (FTX) per year.

Uniform Looking Good?

With only wearing your #1 dress once a month, there is no excuse to not have your uniform in tip-top shape. Also ensure your field dress is free from wrinkles.

It is the easiest, and most comfortable uniform you can wear. Put it in the dryer for 5 minutes on high to de-wrinkle it. Make sure you hang it up after every parade night

Interested in Band?

If you play an instrument of any kind, or would be interested in learning, talk to Capt. Turner.
